A place where you remember to slow down

A perfect getaway 7 hours from Delhi, this place is ideal for an artistic retreat away from the hustle bustle of the city. After a thrilling drive of about 5-10 minutes upwards of Bhimtal lake, you become privy to the breathtaking vistas from the gardens of Sojourn with Nyoli; a stunning view of the Bhimtal Lake set against a green blanket of lush oak, pine and deodar trees.

WHAT’S WAITING FOR YOU?
What You'll Wake Up To
The name gives it away; "Nyoli" means the forest song. And mornings here deliver exactly that. Light comes through the oak and deodar outside and plays across the double-height living room windows before you've even made your way downstairs. The garden is already awake and waiting for you; birds chirping, leaves rustling, the cool nip in the air moving through the trees. There is no alarm built into any of this. The day progresses as sunlight does, and you follow through.

What You'll Wind Down With
As the temperature drops and the garden goes still, the living room finds its moment. Warm, unhurried moments around the stone fireplace with the crackling sound of fire becomes the natural centre of the evening. Later, if the evening calls for it, the garden is set for a bonfire, the sky above the hills adorned by celestial magic. Nights here are quiet and reflective in a way that actually restores something.
Hosted With All Heart
Every stay here is held together by a team that treats your comfort as a craft. They cook with care, help you discover the quiet beauty of the hills, and move through the home with a warmth that you can experience from the get go. With them looking after the details, all that's left for you to do is unwind. The care is present without being visible, which is the best kind there is.
A Symphony of Flavours
Meals at Sojourn are home-cooked in the truest sense; not a menu designed for effect, but food made with attention and local knowing. The kitchen draws from the rhythms of the hills: fresh, seasonal, unhurried. And when the mood is right, there's the Kumaoni Thali with local red rice, madua roti, bhaang chutney, lentils and seasonal curries made the traditional way. Food here knows where it comes from and therefore tends to taste like it.
