WHERE THE PINES HOLD YOUR SILENCE
The Soulitude Morni Hills
The Soulitude is not just a name. It is a quiet declaration
A blend of soul and solitude, it sits at 1,220 metres in the pine-wrapped folds of Morni Hills, Haryana, where the air carries the scent of earth after rain and mornings arrive without agenda. This is a place that doesn't ask you to do anything but arrive, and slowly, willingly, become still.

THE SPACE
Spread across a generous 1,800 square feet, the cottage carries its size lightly. Two bedrooms, each with an attached bath and split AC, are designed to make mornings feel like an occasion, glass windows frame the hills, the treeline, and a sunrise that arrives unhurried and unannounced, painting the valley in the kind of light you want to hold in your hands. The living room flows into an open kitchen, warm and well-equipped, tended by a resident Nepalese cook who takes quiet pride in a good meal. Step out onto the terrace and the gazebo waits, strung with outdoor furniture, open to the sky, and flanked by pine on every side. There is a swing. Of course there is a swing.
The Soulitude comfortably hosts up to four guests, with two bedrooms, an additional sleeping arrangement on the living room floor, and three bathrooms throughout the property.
THE SURROUNDINGS
Morni Hills does not announce itself. It reveals itself slowly, first in the quality of the air, then in the sound of it, and finally in the way the light falls through the pines at different hours of the day. A bout of strong hill wind arrives every afternoon like a ritual, cool and deliberate, lasting just long enough to remind you where you are.
For those who want to wander, the landscape rewards it generously. The shimmering Tikkar Taal lake is a short drive away. The ancient Morni Fort, steeped in history and framed by wildlife pavilions, is barely three kilometres from your door. A jungle trail begins almost within sight of the cottage. And for the unhurried soul, the Ghaggar river is a quiet hour's walk downhill, a journey that asks more of you on the way back, but gives more too.
For those who want to do nothing at all, the cottage is designed for exactly that. Lie in bed as the hills shift colour. Sit in the open compound as the birdsong navigates the morning. Let the gazebo hold your silence for a while.
A NOTE ON THE NAME
Soul. Solitude. The two words arrived together here and decided to stay. The Soulitude is that kind of place, where the name isn't a marketing decision but a lived truth. A cottage that has been tended with care for nearly two decades, now quietly opened to those who know that real rest is not an absence of things, but a presence of the right ones.
A place where you remember to slow down

WHAT’S WAITING FOR YOU?
What You'll Wake Up To
The Shivaliks don't ease you into the morning, they pull you out of sleep with birdsong before the light has fully arrived. Morni is quieter than most hill destinations, and that quiet is the first thing you notice: no traffic, no construction, just the sal forest doing what it does at dawn. This is the kind of morning that makes you wonder why you ever set an alarm.

What You'll Wind Down With
By late afternoon, the forest has a different quality, deeper, slower, the light moving lower through the branches. This is when Solitude earns its name most honestly: the sounds thin out, the temperature drops a degree or two, and the evening begins to feel like something set aside just for you. A meal. A gazebo. The particular silence of a hillside that urges you to look inwards.
Hosted With Heart
The team at Solitude is small and lives nearby. They treat the home as their own and know the region in and out. We urge you to actively seek local recommendations. They'll cook wholesome meals for you; nothing fancy, but made with a lot of intent. The care here sits quietly in the background, making itself felt without ever drawing too much attention.
A Symphony of Flavours
There's something about eating in the hills that makes everything taste more considered. Part of it is the air, part of it is the hunger that comes from actually doing very little all day. At Solitude, the kitchen leans into honest cooking, locally sourced where it can be, home-style in its instincts, careful with what the region does well.
